Linkin Park is one of my favorite rock bands. This band came together in 1996; achieving mainstream success with over 50 million albums sold and awarded two Grammy Awards. They dominate nu metal/rap rock genre. There first three albums Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and Minutes To Midnight topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any other album that year. Collaborations with Jay-Z are evident in the albums Collision Course and Reanimation.
The band consisting of members: Chester Bennington (vocals), Rob Bourdon (drums and percussions), Brad Delson (lead guitar), Dave Farrell (base guitar and back up vocals), Joe Hahn (programming, sampling, turntables) and Mike Shinoda (Emcee, vocals).
These friends have been together since high school. The band practiced, recorded and produced songs in vocalist Mike Shinoda’s bedroom, which served as a recording studio.
Linkin Park’s claim to fame started in 1999, where they got signed onto Warner Bros record label. Then in 2000, the boys launched their debut album called Hybrid Theory. Selling over five million copies just in the first year, the bands fame soared and had three Grammy nominations and winning Best Hard-Rock Performance. The band’s second album Meteora earned the band multiple awards and honors. This album took home MTV’s Best Rock Video for the song “Somewhere I Belong”. It also was awarded Viewers Choice Award for the song “Breaking the Habit”.
In 2006 the band returned to the recording studio and produced the album (completed by 2007) Minutes To Midnight. This album sold over 600,000 copies in the first week alone, making it one of the most successful debut week albums in recent years.
Linkin Park will be rocking for many years to come. The banging vocals and hard rocking songs, this band will keep pumping great material.
