Calling all 1970-80’s rockers and karaoke fans- the lead singer for one of your favorite songs to sing has just passed away. Lead singer for 70s’ band The Knack, Doug Fieger is now immortalized in the 1979 no. 1 hit ‘My Sharona’. The songwriter has been battling cancer for several years- in 2006, he had two tumors removed from his brain. However, his fight was kept mostly away from the public eye, unlike typical Hollywood celebrity trends today. The Knack’s manager, Jake Hooker, informed press of Fieger’s death and its details: he passed away Sunday at his Woodland Hills home, located near Los Angeles.
