Oprah Winfrey: James Frey speaks out

“A Million Little Pieces”, the controversial book by James Frey that had duped Oprah Winfrey. Just so gullible!! The very same book that she tagged as one of “Oprah’s book club” in 2005, that has been said to be lies. The author claimed that he was imprisoned for 87 days, well in fact he only stayed there for a few hours; that his girlfriend was said to have hung herself well in reality she slashed her wrists. So what?

Why so serious? I mean, those were only a few alterations it’s not like he’d made the whole thing up. The embellishments and the polishing of the story were just part to sell the book and make it more interesting. It’s a strategy. Besides, hasn’t she done some thing like that? I’m sure she had, some point or another. She's not perfect. Heck no!

Remember the KFC free 2-piece chicken she advertised way back? When everyone just started to print out the coupons, run to the nearest KFC link, only to find out that it was all a fake. She makes mistakes, James makes mistakes but all those reasons aren’t enough to bash him on-screen. It’s too humiliating. For all we know, after the broadcast, Riverhead books dropped Frey. She’s THE Oprah, she pretty much knows her influences, and it was just shameful that she ruined someone else's career in exchange for a few apologies. She might have as well let it go off the hook.

It’s too late now. Damaged has been done. Puff.
